Childrens play areas are often one of the least finished areas in your landscape although highly visible. We have had great success using washed stone to create a finished and kept look in these areas. Washed stone is also very smooth and will not track into house like hardwood mulch has the potential to do. Hardwood mulch can also be used but there are certain draw backs. One of the most practical reasons for using washed stone is that these play areas remain dry and the stone allows water to drain through it. Hardwood mulch on the other hand retains moisture and the aesthetic difference over time is less than attractive. The ornamental washed stone is also very safe for small children who may fall alot. The pictures below will show before and after photos of jobs that we have done.
