Children's play areas are often one of the areas of the landscape we most often leave unfinished, although highly visible. The materials we use are smooth and safe for your pets and children, as well as functional in preventing mess and keeping maintenance low. For example, washed stone is very smooth, and does not track dirt into your home the way mulch has the potential to do. Hardwood mulch can also be used but has certain drawbacks. We will meet your needs and accommodate accordingly based on economic and essential needs. One of the most practical reasons for using washed stone is to ensure your play areas remain dry, as the stone allows water to drain through. On the other hand, hardwood mulch retains moisture, and over time will increase maintenance and decrease aesthetic appeal. Therefore, we suggest using washed stone, especially in areas where small children are at play.
